Coachella Valley homes with lazy rivers and waterslides

The backyards people actually book the trip for — a real lazy river, a slide into the deep end, and a pool that stays warm into November.

A lazy river is the rare desert amenity that earns its keep for a whole group at once. The people who want to swim laps get the pool, the people who want to talk for four hours get an inner tube, and the kids stay in sight of both. In a valley where the afternoon sits above 100°F from June through September, moving water is the difference between a house everyone uses and a house everyone naps in.

The homes below are the ones in our collection with a lazy river, a waterslide, or both — not a lap pool with a fountain. Most pair it with a spa and a shaded outdoor kitchen, so the yard still works after dark, when the desert finally cools off and the group drifts back outside.

They are also our largest houses, which is not a coincidence: a river needs yard, and yard comes with bedrooms. If you are booking for two families or a milestone birthday, start here.

Good to know

Questions we get asked.

Are the pools heated?

Every home in this group has a heated pool and spa. Pool heat is the single most-requested add-on between November and March — arrange it with us when you book so the water is at temperature the day you arrive, rather than the day after.

Is the lazy river safe for young kids?

The rivers are shallow and slow-moving, but they are not lifeguarded and depths vary between homes. Treat them as you would any private pool: kids in the water need an adult in the water.

Can we use the slide and river during festival weekends?

Yes. The yard is yours for the whole stay — that is most of the reason to rent a house instead of a hotel room during Coachella or Stagecoach weekend.
